Prepare

Prepare your files to sell or send

A finished design still isn't quite done if you're planning to sell it, ship it to a client, or send it to someone else's machine. It needs packaging: a watermark to protect a preview image from casual theft, a mockup to show what the finished product actually looks like, a clean archive so the buyer or recipient gets exactly the files they need without digging through extras.

This is the step most commonly skipped by newer sellers — understandably, since none of it is visible in the design itself, it only shows up in how professional (or vulnerable) the final listing or delivery looks.

For digital product sellers specifically: an unprotected, full-resolution preview image is effectively a free copy of your work sitting in your listing. A watermark — done in a way that doesn't obscure the design itself — closes that gap without hurting how the listing looks to a genuine buyer.

For anyone delivering files to someone else (a client, a cutting service, a laser operator): a single clean, well-organized archive with exactly the files needed, at the right resolution and format, saves a round of confused back-and-forth messages asking what half the files in a folder are for.
